Board Resolution No. 2, series of 2023, highlights the significance of the hand choreography of the PLSP Hymn, and acknowledges the contributions of Dr. Joel Melecio Cabael in creating it. Dr. Sigfredo C. Adajar, the university president is very happy that the hymn he sang in 1997 as member of the pioneering batch, is given deeper meaning. The resolution serves as a testament to the PLSP community’s commitment to promoting the school’s values and identity, and to upholding its mission and vision.

Board Resolution No. 2, series of 2023, pertains to the hand choreography of the PLSP Hymn titled “PLSP Naming Mahal,” which is the official hymn of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP). The choreography is courtesy of Dr. Joel Melecio Cabael, the Vice President of External Affairs and Linkages of PLSP.

The resolution acknowledges the efforts of Dr. Cabael in creating the hand choreography for the PLSP Hymn, which has been well-received by the PLSP community. The resolution also notes that the hand choreography adds to the beauty and meaning of the PLSP Hymn, and serves as a way to express the pride and love for the school and its values.

The Board Resolution further recognizes the importance of the PLSP Hymn and its hand choreography in fostering a sense of unity and identity among the PLSP community, and in promoting the school’s mission and vision. It also encourages the PLSP community to continue to embrace and promote the PLSP Hymn and its hand choreography in various school events and activities. The people behind the composition of the hymn are also given credits specifically Prof. Milagros B. Alimane (retired)- the principal lyricist, Mr. Noli M. Bigol (+) for musical accompaniment and supervision, Mr. Ron Alvin Replan-an alumnus- for the musical arrangement and Mr. Neil Albert Jocson- also an alumnus- for additional lyrics.
