With the academic year slowly getting to a close, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP) conducted its 23rd Recognition Rites, with the theme of “Patriotism, Leadership, Service and Professionalism: Triumphs and Endurance in a Transformational Journey”, held at the Sports Pavillion last June 20.

This recognition aims to acknowledge the excellence and immense contribution of every individual that shown an exemplary performance in the field of academics- as well in their internship field, in relation to the quote “keep moving, keep climbing, keep the faith” from Miley Cyrus’ song “The Climb” as part of the opening remarks of Prof. Lorena E. Bautista, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Dean of the College of Teacher Education.

Also present in the event were the University Officials, with Hon. Justin Colago and Hon. Richard Pavico, and PLSP’ Alumna, Ms. Rosela Balagtas served as the guest speaker in the morning and Mr. Carl Kish Tolentino in the afternoon.

Awards were given to the students from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business Administration (CBA), College of Computer Studies and Technology (CCST) and College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) in the morning session, while the awardees from Graduate School (GS), College of Accountancy (COA), College of Engineering (COE), College of Human Kinetics (CHK), College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS) and College of Teacher Education (CTED) attended in the afternoon session.

Students from each colleges received several awards, such as Academic, Research, Internship and Special Awards. They were given a medal and a certificate by the executives, city officials and their parents.

The event ended with a song titled “The Climb”, with the students given assurance that they are almost near the finish line – which is their dream.
