San Pablo City, October 23, 2023 – The highly anticipated University Intramurals, commenced with a heartwarming Thanksgiving Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Church and a parade featuring different colleges at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP ) . The event was graced by esteemed University officials, including Dr. Sigfredo Adajar, Dr. Randall B. Pasco, and the City Administrator of the City of San Pablo, Larry S. Amante.
In his opening address, Mr. Evan Jesusco shared profound words: “Sports teach you what it feels to win and lose; they teach you about life.” Dr. Sigfredo Adajar, the University President, emphasized the values of “Discipline” and “Sportsmanship,” underlining that sports go beyond mere victory; it’s about the way we achieve it. Embracing the theme, “Reinforce the strength, Conquer the glory,” Mr. Randall B. Pasco, Vice President for Student Development Services, highlighted that every endeavor in this event is dedicated to the glory of God.
The formal inauguration featured Mr. Mark Laluon, a Gold Medalist in LCUAA 3×3 Basketball, lighting the torch. This symbolic act represented the fire that unites us despite the diversity of team colors, symbolizing the essence of the event.
Mr. Earl Justine Fortuna led the Oath of Sportsmanship, emphasizing its significance in promoting fair play and mutual respect. This was followed by the Ceremonial Toss, executed by Prof. Lorena E. Bautista, LPT, MAEng, Vice President for Academic Affairs, adding a touch of tradition to the proceedings.
The event reached its pinnacle with a powerful performance by ANYO, the Arnis Team, igniting the atmosphere with their impressive display of skills and passion.

Breathtaking showdown at PLSP intramurals: Cheers, skills, and masteries light up campus
In a thrilling showcase of sportsmanship and prowess at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP) Intramurals 2023, the recent sports event witnessed the College of Business Administration (CBA) taking the lead in multiple categories. They clinched the coveted titles of Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2023, with Mr. Japhet Karatuan and Ms. Janelle Emelo reigning supreme amidst the glittering festivities.
But CBA’s dominance didn’t stop there. Their Table Tennis prowess was unmatched, as they secured titles in both Singles and Doubles categories for both boys and girls.
Meanwhile, the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management (CTHM) showcased their mastery in Futsal, dominating the Mixed category, and they didn’t hold back in the Women’s Taekwondo Light division. The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) proved its mettle on the court, emerging victorious in Men’s Basketball and women’s Basketball, and securing the Women’s Volleyball category.
In addition, Taekwondo battles were fiercely contested across multiple divisions, with CBA, CCST, and CTED showcasing excellence in various weight categories.
In the end, CBA emerged as the Overall Winner, a testament to their excellence and skill across all competitions, making them the undisputed champions of the PLSP Intramurals 2023. The overall first runner-up was secured by CAS, and the overall second runner-up was CTHM.
Sports commissioners and participants alike witnessed a remarkable feat of athleticism and dedication at this thrilling event.
