The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP) proudly took part in the 2025 National Conference of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU) held at The Heritage Hotel Manila on October 27–28, 2025. The two-day national gathering brought together higher education leaders from across the country to share best practices, strengthen institutional linkages, and reaffirm their commitment to academic excellence and innovation in local higher education.

The PLSP delegation was led by Dr. Preciosa D. Villacruel, University President, together with Dr. Sigfredo C. Adajar, College Administrator; Dr. Kurt Cyrus John B. Cabral, Director of Institutional Accreditation and Quality Assurance; Prof. Lorena E. Bautista, Director of the Center for Curriculum Development and Innovation; and Mr. Alvaro T. Dioquino, Jr. Director of Presidential Media Affairs and International Linkages.

PLSP Receives Certificate of Good Standing as ALCU Member

During the conference, the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo was conferred the Certificate of Good Standing as an active member of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities (ALCU). This recognition underscores PLSP’s continued compliance with ALCU standards in governance, academic quality, and institutional development.

The achievement stands as a collective milestone, made possible through the joint efforts of both present and past university administrations who have steadfastly worked to uphold PLSP’s commitment to quality education and public service. The recognition reflects the university’s consistency in meeting accreditation benchmarks and its proactive engagement in national academic initiatives.

Dr. Preciosa D. Villacruel Officially Invested as University President

One of the conference’s significant highlights for the PLSP community was the induction and investiture of Dr. Preciosa D. Villacruel as University President of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo. Dr. Villacruel’s investiture symbolizes a new era of leadership grounded in academic integrity, innovation, and inclusive governance.

Her leadership vision continues to drive PLSP toward achieving higher standards in instruction, research, extension, and institutional accreditation—anchored on the university’s mission of producing competent, ethical, and community-oriented graduates.

PLSP Administrators Inducted as ALCU Affiliate Organization Officers

Further adding to PLSP’s distinguished participation in the event, two university officials were inducted into leadership roles in ALCU affiliate organizations.

Dr. Sigfredo C. Adajar was inducted as Chairman/President of the Local Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (LCUAA), marking his second consecutive term in the position. His continued leadership signifies the university’s strong advocacy for sports development and student wellness across local universities and colleges nationwide.

Meanwhile, Mr. Alvaro T. Dioquino, Jr. was inducted as Vice President for External Affairs of the Association of Local Colleges and Universities–Culture and Arts, Inc. (ALCULTURA, Inc.). Mr. Dioquino previously served as ALCULTURA President for Academic Year 2024–2025, where he championed initiatives promoting cultural preservation and artistic excellence among member institutions.
