Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng San Pablo (PLSP) gathered administrators, faculty, student-leaders, alumni, parents, teachers, and community representatives in a stakeholders’ conference to strengthen preparations for Level 3 Accreditation, held at the LGU Hotel on October 2.

University President Dr. Venus C. Ibarra, CPA, opened the program by urging active participation, saying, “Ang inyong idea ay buong puso naming pakikinggan at bibigyan ng panahon upang mabigyan ng kasagutan.” She stressed that the effort goes beyond today’s students, as accreditation is “for our children and the next generation.”

City Mayor Arcadio “Najie” Gapangada Jr., MNSA, connected the goal to PLSP’s long-term vision: “To accredit to Level 3 is to open program offerings that other schools in San Pablo do not have.” He underscored that the city government is working hand in hand with PLSP in its transition into a full-fledged university.

For Dr. Preciosa D. Villacruel, LPT, accreditation reflects unity and identity. “This is a manifestation of our shared commitment… resilient, relevant, and recognized, with graduates who are skilled, ethical, and committed to service,” she said.

Vice Mayor of Rizal, Hon. Antonio Aurelio expressed the message of support from Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, who affirmed her backing for PLSP’s accreditation journey.

In a separate message, Prof. Lorena E. Bautista, LPT, emphasized the spirit of “One PLSP.” Bautista reminded participants, “Our positions do not matter unless we acknowledge the meaning behind them—who we truly are in Pamantasan.”

Keynote speaker Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, CESE, added a firm reminder: “PLSP is not an accident,” he said, calling on leaders to act with intention as the university pursues accreditation.

The conference also opened space for students and faculty to raise questions on what Level 3 accreditation could mean in terms of academic programs and student leadership opportunities. The event ended with a photo opportunity, symbolizing the solidarity of PLSP’s stakeholders.
